Born out of the LVP–MITRA Program, a collaborative medtech hackathon between L V Prasad Eye Institute and MIT Media Lab, this initiative bridges clinical expertise with cutting-edge engineering. The program connects world-class ophthalmologists from LVPEI, Hyderabad with leading engineers and scientists from MIT and other global institutions to co-create the next generation of eye-care technologies.
I had the opportunity to organize three consecutive hackathons, bringing together innovators, clinicians, and researchers to transform ideas into impactful solutions for vision care. Beyond the technology, it was incredibly fun and rewarding to inspire young STEM minds and introduce them to the exciting possibilities of health tech, innovation, and collaboration.
At the Innovation Center in L V Prasad Eye Institute I get to work on some amazing projects where there is actual clinical need and the innovations has tremendous impact in rural primary care centers. I also worked on patient care, with which we tried to improve the existing methods of treatment. With LVPEI's network of 100+ primary care centers across 4 states of India, these projects have been already deployed as products in those centers catering the needs of almost 50,000 people.
At college, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), because of Project Based Learning system, I had projects for each subject every semester. Sharing some of the projects that were documented. Most of my projects were hardware and we couldn't take pictures.
